Science - Life Cycle of a Frog

In our Science lesson today, we learned about the life cycle of a frog. Like all amphibians frogs spend their time near water to lay their eggs.
I found a website that you can explore and learn more about the stages of the life cycle. Please go to the following website for online games that are related to frogs.

Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is the largest, most widely celebrated international environmental event. Earth Day helps celebrate Earth's unique place in the universe. It is the only planet in our solar system teaming with incredible biodiversity. April 22 is Earth Day and a great time to consider steps we can take to help the environment. In honor of Earth Day this is a great opportunity to remind us all of the importance of following the 4 R's: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, AND RESTORE. What we do in our homes and school can make a difference for the planet. This link will take you to events planned in your area.

Book Review

This is a reminder to all students that you will be starting to work on your book review next week. I would like for each student to bring in your novel and a rough copy of the review. Once your rough copy is done then you may start decorating your poster with pictures, words, stickers, etc. I am sure you will all enjoy doing this. The final task will be for each of you to present your book review to the class.
Have a good weekend!!

Multiplication

This week was a short week and hope you all enjoyed it. We have finished a lesson on multiplication. I came across a math site that I think will be beneficial to all of us in the classroom. It has fun activities for you to practice your multiplication. I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy this website.

Have Fun!!

April is Earth Month

April is Earth Month and it is time to begin a new science unit on biodiversity. This Unit will be a fun way to start spring. Biodiversity is defined as the variety of life in the world. It is all about the world around us. We are going to look at the impact humans have on biodiversity and the environment. Each group will have a copy of the "Down to Earth Guide to Global Warming" and we will be using this book throughout Earth Month as a source of additional information. I would like you to look at the book's website tonight and for you to play with it.
I am also attaching a link to a virtual forest challenge game where you can learn more about the environment.

Have fun and I look forward to beginning the new unit tomorrow!

This includes admission and transportation. If any parents would like to attend, I would be happy to have a few volunteers. I think this show will be a fun way to end our unit on Medieval Times.
